Finding purpose/what lights you up?

This is something I love to talk about as I really believe that if we are living a life that feels true to ourselves then quite simply we feel more alive.

I think it takes a lot of energy to fight against what our soul wants to do and that this can often lead to ill health. But it is also so easy to get stuck in situations that drain our life force and make it hard to listen to the callings of our soul.

'The search for ones own being, the discovery of the life one needs to live, can be one of the strongest weapons against disease' Lawrence LeShan

One of the questions I have always asked people I meet in the hospital is what lights you up? What do you love? What do you feel passionate about? I feel this is one of the most important questions to ask when it comes to health but one we don't often ask. I love to see people's eyes light up when they talk about what they love and what they feel passionate about. And I can see that same sparkle on the eyes of those that I meet who are well into their 90's and still fit and healthy.

I feel it in myself and I'm sure you can too. When I feel what I'm doing is aligned, I feel vibrant and energized, but if I'm stuck in something that doesn't feel right my energy is depleted, almost like my life force is stagnant. And of course this will affect the physical body

Hormone balance I feel is intricately linked to this flow of life force energy. We can use it to fuel our healing and nurture our physical body but we need to allow it to flow too.

And I think this is especially true at perimenopause as I feel that this is a big part of what this time is about. Preparing ourselves for who we want to be and what we want to bring to the world as we enter into our role as a wise woman. If we fight against this then I feel our body will soon let us know.

Sometimes though I am learning that from a higher perspective there may be twists and turns that we need to make in order to be more fulfilled in the long run. Our soul may understand this but perhaps these twists and turns seen to be contradictory to what we can see in the short term. And so then it is all about trusting and surrendering too which can feel scary! Sometimes perhaps it requires us to step up to a new level and that can be scary too! Any change, even positive, can be something that the ego will resist as it just wants to keep us safe.

So perhaps that's why many of us will stay stuck, often dreaming about the life we know we could be living but unable to move forward.

Life is certainly a journey and learning to trust and surrender to it all I know for me has been one of the hardest but also the most beautiful parts!

Below is a video of me talking about my journey in trying to follow my soul and learning about what I feel is my purpose. It's a work in progress as always.
